Currently, in Poland, over 1,700 bone marrow or peripheral blood stem cell ( PBSC ) collections are performed each year, the trend is growing each year and soon we should reach 2,000 collections per year. Most of these collections are for patients from outside Poland. Thanks to these collections, thousands of people have a chance for full recovery

With over 2.1 million donors available in the World Marrow Donor Association ( WMDA ) global database as of December 2022 , Poland's resources were the third largest in Europe and fifth in the world, and accounted for 5.1% of the WMDA global registry of bone marrow donors, which already numbers over 41 million donors. The number of active potential bone marrow donors in Poland is still growing.
