THE BONE MARROW DONOR REGISTRY
The Bone Marrow Donor Registry operating at the Urszula Jaworska Foundation was established in 1997 .
Currently, the Foundation is not recruiting new bone marrow donors. It is taking care of those already recruited, as well as conducting information and educational activities regarding bone marrow donation and blood cancers.
The Foundation's register contains over 11 thousand Donors, and the Foundation's Register is part of the nationwide network of Bone Marrow Donor Centers operating in accordance with the Act of 1 July 2005 on the collection, storage and transplantation of cells, tissues and organs and operates within the ORGANIZATIONAL AND COORDINATION CENTER FOR TRANSPLANTATION "POLTRANSPLANT" (https://www.poltransplant.org.pl ).
The Urszula Jaworska Foundation has performed 34 bone marrow transplants from donors registered with the Urszula Jaworska Foundation – including the first Polish donor for a Polish patient (in 1999 ).
