CLINICAL TRIALS

It all started with the illness of our then President Czesław Baranowski and the many difficulties that Urszula Jaworska had to face while searching for clinical trials in the area of pancreatic cancer conducted in Poland. Problems with finding studies led to the idea of building an educational website and search engine that would help Polish patients search for and access clinical trials. It turned out by chance that a similar idea was born in the Polish Development Fund . Thanks to the consent of the Minister of Health , our Foundation and PFR received permission to work together in this area. It cost us many meetings with various institutions and companies. It also meant dozens of hours of our work on the appearance of the website and on the content, so that it would be understandable to patients.

Thanks to the enormous contribution of many Partners, on November 14, 2018 , we launched the first version of the website at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health . After the establishment of the Medical Research Agency, the natural course of events was to transfer it to the ABM , where it is still being developed, and our Foundation continues to actively participate in the work on many new materials that appear on the website (and in the printed version), as well as on other promotional activities.

Our Foundation and all Project Partners have been working for Patients in pro bono clinical trials from the very beginning!

Currently, all employees of the Foundation are improving their qualifications in the area of clinical trials and are involved in the work of the Bioethics Committees and in reviewing applications for permits for clinical trials in Poland:

Urszula Jaworska - Member of the Supreme Bioethics Commission
Sebastian Gawlik - Patient Representative, Supreme Bioethics Commission
Mariusz Błaszczyk - Patient Representative, Local Bioethics Committee
Ewa Pląsek - Patient Representative, Local Bioethics Committee

We are also the authors of a clinical trial management system, a mobile application supporting clinical trial participants and a website with a search engine for clinical trials conducted by the Clinical Trials Support Center in Poznań. On May 12, 2022 , in Poznań, as a Consortium Member of the Karol Marcinkowski Medical University, we opened the University Clinical Trials Support Center!
