HOW TO BECOME A DONOR
To become a bone marrow donor in Poland, you must meet several conditions and go through the registration process.
Here are the steps to take:

Registering with one of the Bone Marrow Donor Centres – list available at www.szpik.info or ordering a registration package: You can order a free registration package online at the DKMS website www.dkms.pl

Complete the form and health questionnaire and provide a blood sample for HLA analysis (Human Lymphoma Antigens) if you are registered with DKMS. Once you receive your package, complete the attached form and take a swab from the inside of your cheek, then send everything back to the address provided in your registration package.

After registration, if your HLA match is with the patient, you will be asked for a repeat blood draw and/or HLA typing.

In case of full compliance, preparation for the bone marrow collection procedure begins, this is called qualification: During one visit to a center authorized to perform tests, you will be qualified as a bone marrow donor.
